About Me

My name is Steve Bunting, and I am a professional freelance FOH / Monitors live sound engineer, systems technician and audio consultant specialising in live music mixing. I have worked with literally hundreds of name bands, toured all over the world and continue to be in high demand with bands and hire companies alike.

FOH in Scranton, PA.

I am 32 years old. I have been working as a professional live sound engineer for over 10 years. Prior to this, I studied for 4 years at the University of Surrey in Guildford on the prestigious Tonmeister course. At the same time, I pursued more practical live sound experience in the University Student’s Union and the local Guildford Civic Centre. This combination of academic knowledge and hands-on experience allowed me to go freelance before even graduating university! I did graduate of course in June 2005 with a 2:1.

I started TotalProAudio.com in August 2010 because I believe there is an abundance of misinformation regarding audio production on the internet. It is an opportunity for me to document my knowledge, my technical and practical experience and maybe even the odd tale or two from the road! There are all too many websites and online forums touting information for anyone who will read it, but none that I hope to be so comprehensive, coherent and accurate as TotalProAudio.com.

It is my aspiration that this site will grow to become a reference for all aspects of live audio production on the internet, for beginners and veterans alike. I have a long list of topics to cover, but I would be happy to cover any requests in the meantime. Also, I am totally up for a debate if you feel anything that I’ve written is incorrect or incomplete!
